4 things

What I am about to share with you comes from someone who I follow on YouTube and Facebook. I also signed up to receive her emails. I received this particular email but I kinda skipped over it. One day on YouTube I just felt like I was ready to hear what she had to say. Let me tell you, Lisa Nichols don’t play. She says what you need to hear in a way that can really shake you up. She does it with love and clear actionable steps. If you are ready for a transformation, watching her videos or reading her books will be a step in the right direction. This video is titled, “The 4 Things You Should Do Before December 31st”. Here is the link.

Now I am a little different so I am going to jump around on my answers. I am also going to tweak my 4 things to fit me. The last thing that Lisa listed was to go to 6 people who affected your life in a positive way this past year, look them in the eye and give them the accolades they deserve. I have decided that I will deliver/mail handwritten cards to my 6 individuals. A couple of people don’t live here so it would make sense to send them cards. Now I just have to find my booklet of stamps. I never know where it is when it is time to mail something.

Another 1 of the 4 things is to set micro goals that you would like to accomplish within a 90 day time span. These 90 day goals should be realistic and doable. Don’t set yourself up for failure. Please only give yourself goals that can be accomplished on this short amount of time. My macro goal is to be completely debt free within two years. Whenever I look at that goal I feel overwhelmed. I know that it is achievable but how? Well Lisa’s idea to break things down into 90 day goals really resonated with me. Now I am determined to list a few debts that I would like to pay off within 3 months. Pay them off, pat myself on the back and list a few more for the next 90 days. By the end of two years, I will have micro wins to celebrate and a debt free life. I feel the relief already and I haven’t even started yet. Lol. This is just my example. Applied this to the areas that matter the most to you. I know that you can do it and I am cheering for your successes. If it is not too much to ask or too personal, please share some goals that you would like to achieve within the first 90 days.

I am a true, undeniable introvert. I always make time to rejuvenate myself or I won’t be worth shit to anyone. My job requires my full attention and presence in the moments that I am there. When I am not at work, I’m usually at home. This for me is rejuvenating. I get to clear my head, crochet and read. Things that I love to do. I also get massages monthly. I am about self-care. This is something that I have been aware of and will continue into the new year. Thank you Lisa for pointing this one out and letting me know I’m doing something right in this life.

Lastly, my 10 wins. When I was telling a friend about this video, I pointed out that it should be fairly easy for her to come up with 10 things. I think I spoke too soon. I struggled a little after 5 wins. I’m not sure if I was too busy looking for major wins or if I just didn’t do anything of value with my life past the first 5 wins. I was able to complete 10 after racking my brain for a day. I hope that it is easier for you all to get to 10. I will say don’t be too humble or modest about your accomplishments. Give yourself the credit you deserve. And if you truly can’t find 10, set a goal to make sure this coming year, you will end with 10 plus. Just think if you accomplish at least 2 micro wins in 90 days, you will have 8 in the bag. Here is a few of my 10.

1. Started my blog. This is the one thing that I am most proud of this year. Yay me!!

2. Got a passport. Then…

3. Used it to travel to Cancun with 3 of my good good girlfriends. Lol. Where I…

4. Parasailed with 2 of them.

5. Decided to truly love and accept myself unconditionally.

6. I recently applied for a position that did take me completely out of my comfort zone. Even though I did not get selected for the job, I am proud that I put myself out there.

I really hope that you watch this video. It’s less than 5 minutes. I am truly obsessed with Lisa Nichols. Her story, her story, her story. It is phenomenal. She is inspirational, motivational and transformational. Lisa has a YouTube channel where she does video logs called Motivating the Masses. She also has a few videos roaming around on YouTube that may speak to someone’s life or situation right now. I highly recommend for you to check her out. She has written a few books as well. Right now I am leisurely reading Abundance Now: Amplify Your Life and Achieve Prosperity Today with my book club. They need to step their game up or I am going to keep reading ahead without them.

I would just like to say thank you to everyone that voted, shared my video and supported me in any way throughout the competition for CEO. My team was not selected as part of the top 100 to continue pursing this once in a lifetime job. I was a little disappointed. But life goes on and God will present new opportunities for me to continue to help me grow. I look forward to each new development. Thanks again

Merry Christmas 2017

Merry Christmas to all. Thank you for your support and continued observation of this here blog. May your day be filled with whatever your heart desires. Enjoy!

Cancun Experience Officer aka CEO

UPDATE (12/18/2017): *I have discovered that I had not completely read all of the details for this position. I mistakenly applied the time period in which a person can apply as the end of the voting period. You can still vote every 24 hours until Sunday, December 24th at 11:59pm. I would appreciate your continued support. Thank you.*

This is going to be a short post. I saw an ad on one of my Facebook friends timeline. It wa s a position for a CEO which stands for Cancun Experience Officer. Neat huh? The position would require an individual or team to live in Cancun for 6 months. They would eat at different restaurants, stay in different hotels and participate in activities in and around Cancun. This cannot be real! Oh wait here is the kicker. You will be paid $10,000 a month! Now that is really unbelievable. I looked it up. Went to their website. Checked out the requirements. It seemed legit.

Now the next step was creating a 60 second video saying why I was the best person for the CEO. I had an idea as to what I would bring to the position. My issue was saying it in 60 seconds. I mean I started a blog because I talk so much. Lol. Now you want to confine me to 60 seconds. Wrote some things down, recorded it. Yea…longer than 60 seconds. Then I had an epiphany. You can have a team. Now the pay stays the same no matter who is on your team, but I only needed one other person. My teammate is my mom. Hell I have been on almost all my trips with her so why not have her experience this with me. She agreed to be a part of team. We were going to shoot the video together when I was there for Thanksgiving but we were so busy with the Prayer and Praise event that we never got to it.

My 60 second pitch actually turned out to be 53 seconds. I cut out a few things from my original speech and tried my best to sum up why we would be the best choice. I think I did a good job but only time will tell. I do truly believe we would be a great choice. Even though we cannot highlight Cancun as a family vacation spot, we can show families with older kids and adults the best places and activities. My pitch actually included something that I don’t like to share with most people, my limitations. I have been traveling more recently and it is imperative to know the resources that are available for people with physical limitations. Especially if you are traveling alone. I don’t want my limitations to hold me back from living a full life. If I know that the places I choose to visit has ways to accommodate me, I’m there. When I was in Cancun in July I was impressed with how people treated me. Since that trip I have changed my diet drastically. I was vegan for a small time but scaled back to vegetarian because I do not want to give up seafood for the rest of my life. This is another advantage for my team. To travel around Cancun and show meals that will accommodate vegans and vegetarian and also put a spotlight on handicap accessible hotels, restaurant and activities, win-win.

Now my mom may be older but she loves trying new things and living her best life. On a mission trip, she ziplined in Nicaragua. I haven’t even done that though I want to. The advantage that she adds to the team is that she doesn’t have physical or dietary limitations. She would be the person to do all the activities that I may not be able to. She would also eat the meals that I couldn’t due to it containing meats I don’t eat or dairy. We as a team can give so many different perspectives of Cancun, I don’t know why they wouldn’t pick us. I, of course, could not say all these things in a 60 second video though. And even though I said this was going to be a short post, it’s not looking like that anymore. Lol.

Now that I have submitted my video, I just need votes. I am not sure how big of a role the votes play in them narrowing down the pool to 100 people/teams but it never hurts. A person can vote every 24 hours from the last time that they submitted a vote. Voting is open until 11:59pm Sunday, December 17th. So I am just asking for your support. Here is the link where you can vote, https://ceo.cancun.com/profile/ebony-sims. I will be sure to update this post to let you know if my team is part of the top 100. Thank you for your support.
