My Personal New Year

My birthday card and gift

Today marks the start of my own personal new year. I stole that from a book I recently read titled When Forty Blooms by Jacinta Howard. It was actually a good book, definitely one of the better ones this year. In the book, her friend challenged her to do something different each month of her 40th year. I normally think there is something I want to accomplish at a certain age, but I have not made it a point to set a monthly goal/activity. I usually reserve my goals for the start of the new year. Well, today, I am going to approach life a little differently. I am setting goals for my personal new year. These are just off the top of my head, things I have been thinking about.

Goal #1 – Take better care of my hair.

Lately, I have been so bad with my hair. I’ll wash it and then let it sit for a week before I style it. My hair is usually dry and begging for moisture. It needs at least a leave-in conditioner. I think I take advantage of the fact I have thick hair. Which I know is wrong. My lack of love and care is not good for my hair.

Goal #2 – Be well and whole.

For as much as I tell y’all to be well and whole, I have not been doing the same. As I have said before, I need to get my shit together. That would look like, consistently taking my medications, drinking more water, intermittent fasting, and seeing a therapist  This sounds easy enough. I guess we will see.

Goal #3 – Create and wear my own clothes.

I want to start wearing clothes with my blog name on them. It can be the top, bottom or both. I am always wearing someone else’s clothes with their name or business on them, giving these people free advertisement. Lol. Why not promote myself instead? I have to pick my logo, font, and color theme, which sucks because I have a hard time making decisions. I’ll figure it out though.

I feel like these are some good, reachable goals. And they are all to my benefit. Can’t beat that! This personal new year is going to be one of a kind. Don’t be like me, be well and whole. Much Love ๐Ÿงก ๐Ÿ’š
